Principal's Message

A special thank you to our students, educators, and community!

Ryan - Blue Ribbon School            TEA Exemplary Status

To all Ryan Students, Parents, Teachers, and Staff…

I hope each and every one of you had a very happy, healthy, and safe summer! We are excited about the upcoming school year where our “Mighty Bobcats” will continue to succeed and shine!

We are beginning this school year, unlike any other year before it, with distance learning through online instruction. Our outstanding teachers and staff began this school year on August 14th with Staff Development trainings on delivering effective instruction to our students. We’re very proud of our teachers who have dedicated many hours collaborating with each other and learning on their own to refine their technology skills making learning online fun! There will be challenges and glitches, so we ask for your patience and understanding. With lots of hard work and dedication from our students and staff and the unyielding support from our parents and community, I am confident we will have the best year ever!

Online Registration is currently ongoing and can be accessed and completed at home. Staff members are available to assist our parents with registration over the phone.

The first day of school is Monday, August 24th, and our hours are from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Office hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please be reminded that Daily School Attendance is critical for your child’s academic success. Ensure that your child follows the LISD dress code and that they log on to their classes on time.

We invite all parents and students to come by our school every day between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm for our “Grab and Go” breakfast and lunch sacks. Distribution is at the Drop-off/Pick-up area on Martin Ave.

We miss our Mighty Bobcats! Our goal is to return to school with Face-to-Face learning on campus when it is safe for us to be together again. We urge you to continue to follow all of the guidelines and recommendations from our local, state, and national leaders on the importance of staying home, limiting your outings to only what is very essential, and social distancing.

On a final note, I want to thank our amazing Assistant Principals, Teachers, and Support Staff for all their instructional planning and preparing, our dedicated cafeteria staff for our daily meals, and our tireless custodial staff for thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing our school.

Please look for updates through Remind, our Ryan webpage, Facebook, and Twitter. Our facilities may be closed, but the learning does not stop! M. S. Ryan Elementary is Strong, Proud and Ready!

Looking forward to an amazing year!
