This week we're exploring a powerful word: evaluate! 📚✨ It means to carefully look at something and decide what you think about it. When you evaluate, you're becoming a thoughtful observer and critical thinker. 🧠 We're inviting you to join us in discovering this word and making it part of how we talk and think together. By the end of the week, you might catch yourself evaluating all sorts of things—from ideas to choices to creative projects! 🎯 Let's grow our vocabulary and our thinking skills at the same time. 💪

the LISD Athletic Department will be hosting the SHAC Meeting on Tuesday, October 6 at the Dr. Marcus Nelson Conference Room

❤️🩹 Prioritizing Safety First! 🩹🚑

This past Friday, during staff development, several of our dedicated team members officially completed their Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and Stop the Bleed certifications! 🩺✨

This vital training empowers our team to quickly recognize and respond to medical emergencies on campus.

A huge thank you to our staff for your unwavering commitment to keeping our Bobcats safe, healthy, and protected every day! 🐾💙

💉Last week, some of our Bobcat students rolled up their sleeves and received their Flu vaccine. Getting the flu vaccine is one way to help protect yourself and reduce the spread of flu during this Flu season !

🚀 Gravity in Action! ⚖️

Our 5th graders in Mrs. Torres’ class spent yesterday’s science lab getting hands-on with fundamental physics!

Students explored the invisible force of gravity by measuring pull using spring scales. Working in small lab teams, they practiced:
Calibrating tools to measure force in Newtons
📊 Recording and organizing quantitative lab data
💡 Comparing how mass directly affects gravitational pull

Watching their "aha!" moments as the scales stretched was the highlight of the lesson! Hands-on discovery is in full force in 5th grade. 🔬✨

Thank you for your continued striving toward excellence! Join us in celebrating our outstanding scholars in the comments below! 👇🎉

Get ready to make the most of it! 🎉 We won't have classes on Friday, September 25th, because of Staff Development, which means you've got a long weekend ahead. Time to recharge, have fun, and come back ready to tackle next week! 😊

We're kicking off the second six weeks with something special! 🌟 This week's WOW word is argument, and we're diving deep into understanding what it really means. 💭 Here's the thing: arguments aren't always bad! When we learn to talk about our different ideas respectfully, we actually understand each other better and can prevent misunderstandings from turning into conflicts. 🤝 By exploring this word together, we're building skills that help everyone get along and communicate with kindness. Let's make this week about learning, listening, and growing together! 📚✨

Mark your calendars! 📅 We're thrilled to see you at the LISD Parent Summit this Saturday! 🎉 Grab the flyer for all the exciting details about what's coming your way. Hope to see you there! 👋
