A big thank you 🙏 to Investigator Joey Baeza from the Laredo Police Department 👮‍♂️ for visiting Ryan Elementary last week! We loved having him read to Mrs. Flores's 2nd-grade class 📚 as part of the "Books and Badges" program. It's a wonderful way to connect our students with our community heroes! 💙🐾

The safety of our students and staff remains the highest priority at Laredo ISD. After assessing current weather conditions, Laredo ISD will be delaying the start of classes on Thursday, September 25, 2025, due to possible thunderstorms and flooding. Laredo ISD elementary schools will begin their classes at 9:45 a.m., while middle school students will start the day at 10:00 a.m. LISD high schools will start their day at 10:15 a.m. All Laredo ISD administrative offices and departments will be open on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Central office staff is expected to be at work at 9:30 a.m. Classes will resume on Monday, September 29, 2025, as regularly scheduled. Be assured that Laredo ISD will continue monitoring weather conditions and notify the public of any other changes in our schedule via the District’s social media and website at www.laredoisd.org.

What a fantastic Report Card Night we had! Thank you so much to all the parents and guardians who stopped by. Tryouts are open to all 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade boys and girls and will be held during your scheduled PE classes on Tuesday, September 23, and Wednesday, September 24. We can't wait to see your speed and endurance!

We also want to recognize our digital learning specialist, Ms. Moreno, for her expertise and support, and our IT technician, Mr. Garcia, for always being there to save the day. We're so grateful for everything you all do to keep us connected and learning! 💜

💜Happy School Registrar Appreciation Day and Happy Attendance Staff Day!💜 We're so lucky to have two of the best: Mrs. Munoz and Mrs. Martinez! Thank you both for everything you do to keep Ryan Elementary running smoothly. From managing student records and helping families to tracking attendance and keeping our front office a welcoming place, your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed. We also loved seeing everyone who dressed up in their beautiful Mexican 🇲🇽 attire to celebrate 16 de Septiembre! Thank you to all the grandparents who came out to make today so special. 💜

Today, we're so proud to recognize one of our very own, Demi Jo, a brave childhood cancer warrior at Ryan Elementary! 🎗️ Demi Jo, along with her parents and our wonderful administrators, took part in the LISD's Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Proclamation Ceremony. It was an honor to stand with Demi Jo as we raised awareness for this important cause. We are constantly inspired by Demi Jo's strength and resilience, and we're so glad to have her as part of our Ryan Elementary family! ❤️
